More About ATP 10 min read
Objective
AdventureTrailPortugal (ATP) is dedicated to providing off-road enthusiasts—whether experienced riders or complete beginners—with an organized and safe way to explore off-road adventures using any type of motorcycle.
What Sets Us Apart
While other well-known off-road programs like the Trans Euro Trail (TET) or Adventure Country Tracks (ACT) are available, ATP offers a more inclusive and structured experience. Existing programs often focus on routes suitable for lightweight motorcycles, creating significant challenges for riders with larger trail bikes. Additionally, these programs typically do not organize the stages, leaving participants to handle logistics independently.
Our Vision
ATP seeks to build a team of passionate adventurers who play an active role in organizing and supporting the series of events and journeys we create. Together, we aim to foster a community of riders united by a love for adventure, the thrill of off-road exploration and camping.

Terms & ConditionsWe want to be a reference in this entertainment market, with our main goals to be achieved, among which we highlight:
Freedom
We want to give everyone the freedom to start the ATP at any point in the country. Of course, we always recommend starting at the beginning of the leg that passes through your district, while always following the route. Although each leg corresponds to about 200 km, everyone is free to complete more than one leg per day.
Adventure
The ATP is exactly that: pure adventure. Discovering the off-road roads of all districts of Portugal. Experiencing magnificent landscapes. Passing through fantastic places. Feeling adrenaline, danger, and intense emotions. Wild camping is prohibited in Portugal, so we do not recommend it. At the end of each leg, a bivouac point is referenced (camping site).
Safety
This is our main concern. When designing the legs, we always keep safety in mind, whether you’re on a YZ125 or a KTM1290. Whenever possible, we will update our maps with danger points we identify. The fact that each leg is, on average, 200 km long also reflects safety considerations. These 200 km may represent 5 hours of riding or more, but the idea is not to exhaust participants. Instead, we aim to allow time to enjoy the final destination of each stage, whether it's a beach, river, pool, village, or town.
Civic Responsibility
A large part of the routes goes through mountains, protected parks, areas prone to fires, and other sensitive natural areas. We must strive to leave every space we use, whether for resting or having a snack, better than we found it. If you happen to witness a fire starting, be the first to notify local or national authorities.
Organization
We will always be ready to help with everything within our reach to provide the best possible adventure. Each leg will always have a fuel station and breakfast point at the beginning. Along the route, there will be points of interest for small stops or photos, as well as refueling stops. At the end of the leg, there will always be a campsite to serve as a bivouac.
Inclusivity
We don't want to leave anyone out. Regardless of age, height, gender, or the motorcycle they ride, the ATP is for everyone. Since ATP 2025 is divided into 12 stages, it’s not easy for everyone to find 12 days of vacation to complete the adventure. That’s why we’ve designed ATP 2025 to be as flexible as possible.
Editor Note
For example, I live in the Porto district. I started the ATP from stage 11, Góis. I completed Leg 11 and Leg 12 on a Saturday and Sunday, returning to Porto. I completed Leg 1, Leg 2, and Leg 3 over a long weekend. I finished the remaining legs, Leg 4, Leg 5, Leg 6, Leg 7, Leg 8, Leg 9, and Leg 10 during a vacation week.
